Serie A, B & C: 2024/25 Key Dates

Key dates for the new Serie A season have been revealed, as reported by the Calcio e Finanza website. The following dates are subject to formal confirmation by the league, but that is expected to happen imminently.:

  • The fixture schedule is expected to be drawn up on 4th July and publicised soon afterwards.
  • The first round of matches will take place on the weekend of 17-18th August.
  • There will be a two-week hiatus incorporating the weekends of 7-8th and 14-15th September due to Italy’s participation in the UEFA Nations League.
  • As with the 2023/24 season, matches will take place over the Christmas period.
  • As yet, there has been no confirmation of the date of the final matchday of the season.

By contrast, we’ve already had confirmation of key details for Serie B, with some common themes across the top two divisions:

  • The fixture schedule will be published on 10th July.
  • The first matchday will take place on the weekend of 17-18th August
  • It has been confirmed that there will be a round of fixtures on Boxing Day.
  • In all, Serie B will have four midweek rounds (comprising 2x evening rounds and 2x daytime rounds taking place on public holidays).
  • The date of the final matchday has not been confirmed, but will be no earlier than 1st May 2025.

Down in Serie C, it has been confirmed that the season will kick off a week later, on Sunday 25th August. However, that will be preceded by the first and second rounds of the Coppa Italia Serie C, scheduled for 11th and 18th August, respectively. The Serie C regular season will conclude on 27th April 2025, with the play-offs and play-out taking place thereafter.
